Sarah Kirby is an Australian musicologist who teaches music history at the University of Melbourne, where she writes about music and internationalism, women in music, and Australian and British music history. She's about to publish her first book, on a subject related to the article that prompted me to get in touch with her: “‘The Only Thing “Womanish” is the Composer’: Music at Nineteenth-Century Exhibitions of Women’s Work.”
