Hunter Kelly Interview
Hunter Kelly is a Nashville-based radio host and music journalist who has worked in the country music world for many years. Currently, he’s the host of Proud Radio on Apple Music Country.
How did you get to where you are today, professionally?
My passion for music goes back to my earliest memories from the early ‘80s hearing The Judds, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton on the radio in my mom’s car. By the time I was a teenager, that love for music was a full-on obsession, and I read music magazines regularly and moderated an online fan club forum for Wynonna Judd.
I studied Music Business at Belmont University in Nashville and thanks to the movie Almost Famous, realized I could write about music for a living. I started writing a column in the college newspaper that went on to win a journalism award and interned at Billboard Magazine where I published two album reviews.
