Dayal Patterson Interview
Dayal Patterson is the founder of Cult Never Dies and a longtime music journalist. His new project is a massively expanded version of Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult – The Restored, Expanded and Definitive Edition.
How did you get to where you are today, professionally?
I began writing about music with my fanzine Crypt back in the early 2000s, and then went on to write regularly for magazines such as Terrorizer, Metal Hammer and Record Collector, as well as titles such as The Quietus, Zero Tolerance, Classic Rock Presents, NME and others. In 2009 I began working on my first book, Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult, which was released in late 2013 by an American publisher. In late 2013 I also launched my own publishing house, Cult Never Dies, in order to release further books by myself, and later many others, relating to metal music and culture.
Can you please briefly describe the book?
